Can I join the post-op PR team next year?

I'd really like to be a part of this. Right now I am logging 14 miles a week running and about 20 on a bike since I can only ride on Sundays. I'm training for sprint triathlons next year. Right now I am doing 2-3 5k races a month. I did a Father's Day one and I came in at exactly 30 minutes chip timed. My next one is on the 4th of July. I'm also training for a 10k in October. I know I missed the cutoff for joining the post-op PR team this year but I was wondering if you guys are doing it next year too.

Hey Jillian,

There was and is no "Cut-Off" to join the team. The only requisite is that you complete at least a half marathon in the calendar year. The cut-off was to get a personalized BIO on our website. You will be welcome whenever you are ready. Have an awesome day and keep up the hard work...

Thanks Dan, I am doing a half marathon in February, so I would love to join for 2011. Thanks for the info and I hope you have a speedy recovery.

Basically its for those of us who want to do a little more than the 1/2 hour spin class or the evening walk around the neighborhood.  We encourage you to challenge yourself and push to new goals.
I think of it as a step beyone the regular exercise and fitness board.  Questions and support for people who are doing 1/2 marathons, full marthons, multisport endurance events.  A place for us to share ideas and our experiences that are focused beyond the beginning exerciser.

We already have a great resource here on this message board for the beginning athletes, we wanted something a little more focused.

We want to get the word out about life after surgery, healthy living, exercise, and that bariatric surgery is a viable option that doesn't need to be looked down upon as the easy way out.

Scott.
