gaining weight... why?!
weather, time of the month, working new muscles, all that can lead to some temporary water retention. fear not, it will pass.
My best advice is to not step on the scale so often.

I decided even before my surgery when I finally bought a scale, that I would weigh in on Monday mornings. pre-shower, post-potty. In the months after surgery, I of course got impatient and would step on the scale on a Thursday, and it would always go UP. This taught me to just keep to Mondays. As I got further out and into maintenance, this is very helpful - because in the course of everyday life, your weight is going to go up and down. I give myself a 5lb window, and as long as I'm within that, I don't panic. If it's on the high end of that window for a few weeks running, I might make an adjustment, but usually, if I'm up one week, I'm back down the next.
Point is, find what keeps you sane! The scale is NOT a good friend. :)

i'm a chronic weigher (not sure that is a word), i typically weigh in every morning and night, that being said, i've had to teach myself to live with HUGE fluctuations of weight daily and within each day based on water retention and hydration status. if you're not ready to deal with the roller coaster, toss the scale, because it will drive you nuts! :)
Where are we going?? And why am I in this handbasket??
right now. somewhere. somebody is working harder than you.
