Middletown Classic 10K

 Ran the Middletown Classic 10K with my son today.  I was so exhausted when I woke up - after the half last Sunday, and a lot of running this week, capped by playing some crazy soccer last night for hours (not the best plan!).  It was cool, albeit a bit humid at the start.  The course is continuously hilly, though nothing too crazy.  I was able to rock it out, even caught my son at the 4th mile, and then crushed him (Hey, I am allowed to enjoy the moment, he is 17!).  The finish is in the Middletown high School Track/Football Stadium, which has a big screen where they showed the runners, and of course a cheering crowd.  The run was all through town with lots of folks cheering.

I was able to finish with a chip time of 57.59!   a 9:14 pace!  I am stoked that I did so well even though I started feeling totally drained.  And did I mention I beat my son?  

What a great race. It has the feel of a big time race with a small time price and great course. Sorry that I missed you. I looked for you on the course. I finished right around you. Probably saw each other and didn't even know it. Shame. Anyway, glad that you had a good time.
