weak and dizzy
I have done a lot of weight lifting today but only ran 2 miles. This afternoon I started feeling lightheaded and dizzy and starting shaking and sweating. Almost thought I was going to go out. I ate some doritos (no yelling thats all that was in the office) and started feeling a little better. Blood sugar low ??? Any idea's ???
No longer about weight , it's all about living.
That's what it sounds like.
I have had incidents of low blood sugar since my surgery. It sounds just like you described.
I had the doc give me a prescription for a glucometer and all the testing equipment.
Whenever I have that feeling, I check my blood sugar and it has been 100% of the time that my blood sugar was low.
The fact that it was resolved by eating something really makes me think it is your blood sugar.
Shaking, dizzy, sweating, short temper, I get crabby.

The first time you do something - It's going to be a personal record!
yep, that's what it sounds like to me too, it happens to me quite more than i would like. some other symptoms are seeing color spots and a very hard heartbeat. the first time it happened to me, i was sure i was having a panic attack.
Where are we going?? And why am I in this handbasket??
right now. somewhere. somebody is working harder than you.

i agree with the guys, sounds like a low. I got them pre-surgery and I do get them now on occasion. I know guys don't have the luxury of a purse, but you may want to keep something like peanut butter and crackers in your office and glove box in case it happens again. Usually if you eat every few hours you can avoid it, but you are more at risk if you eat simple carbs with no protein.
Read my blog, BARIATHLETE I run because I can.

I agree with the others. I was getting drops fairly often. My meals were spaced out WAY to far. Like only 3 meals, no snacks, in 12 hours. No good for blood sugar.
Keep an eye on it, and keep a snack handy!
PS You covered the Dorito's by your run ;o)

Every morning in Africa , a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.

It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

Are you still running those crazy calorie deficits? I really had to up my calories lately (I aim for 500 net calorie deficit - keep in mind I'm a lap bander), and it has greatly increased my performance - and got me off the plateau as far as weight loss. I learned my lesson after my first half marathon, I was shakey and light headed for three days afterward.
Hard to say since my main focus for the last few weeks has been weights. I have backed off all the long runs for intervals and increased the intensity on the weights big time. I am actually losing fat and gaining muscle which I thought was not possible. I have lost a shirt and pant size in the last month but maintained my weight. I really don't know how to track calories burned in a day with my workouts. I am getting around 2000 cals and 200g of protein.
