I started running about a month ago and do it 3x a week, I am training for a 5k in july, but I will be doing a 2 mile in june. Lately my shines kill when I am running any suggestions?
Also I am still doing a jog / walk, any good tips on how to increase the jogging?  My goal is to jog the whole way and no walking!

As for the Shins... Stretching and compression sox should help.

Also, be sure to check your shoes.  Sometimes an ill-fitted shoe can cause that problem.  Get a "real" shoe fitting from an expert to be sure you are meeting the requirements your feet and legs need.  I have found that after so many miles running in the same shoes, that I start to have some aches that I didn't get before.  When I get new shoes that changes because they are better able to absorb the pressure and not so worn down.
