Ran My First 5k

Yesterday, I ran my first 5k!  This was a huge goal for me to accomplish.  I wasn't speedy by any means, finishing it in 45:02, but that is 5 minutes faster than I've ever done it while just running.  I know have an official time to work off of and improve upon.

I really loved it, and can't wait to run my next one.

So thankful for my DS! 1/20/2012 - SW 290/CW 155 - 1 year to lose, 1.5 years and counting maintaining!

Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.

It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

Way to go!
If you still have your race bib write the name of the race, the date, your time and pin it up where you and every one can see it. I have read about some putting them in scrap books.  I have two years worth on a wall of my cubicle at work. Look at it and be proud and inspired at the same time.

What a great idea.  I'm going to steal it for my half marathon this July.  Of course, I'm only walking, but what a great way to remember it.
