Well I was walking on the treadmill and at the end of mile 2 I thought i would finish up by jogging the last 1/2 mile... Well everything was going o****il I had like 3 markers left and I heard a POP.. My Leg went out and my knee started hurting like fire.
Now this is not the first time I have had problems with this knee.I also blew it playing football in college, So it was stright into sugery.

Well back to that story at hand.I went to the D.R. and was told there was nothing he could do other than a total knee replacement or deal with the pain until I lost more lb's.He said it would add many years before they would have to replace it.
Now I have not been able to go to the gym I have been up and down between 5-8 lb's I just don't know what to do.. it's like a catch 22.

If anybody has any ideas on how to attack this problem please let me know.. I can't belive this happened RIGHT NOW.. I was almost HALF WAY TO MY GOAL WEIGHT. Argggggggggggggggggg   Somebody that has any clue what i can do please let me know..

Are there any other aerobic exercises you can do that won't stress the knee.

How does it feel on the bicycle or the elliptical machine.
Is it the pounding that hurts, or does it hurt no matter what.

What about swimming, that will remove a lot of the weight pressure you feel.

I'm sorry you are having issues with this.

I had knee surgery in April 2009 and did a water exercise class after I got the clearance from my surgeon to get in the pool.  I had been on crutches and non-weight bearing for 6 weeks - the pool helped alot.  I was able to ease back into the bike as well.  I know that you're on the other side of knee surgery, but maybe the pool & bike combo will work for you.  Also, at my gym they have weights that you can use in the pool on your ankles & wrists to increase the resistance so you get a tougher workout...might be somethign to look into.  Good luck & keep us posted!

Dude that seriously sucks man. You know the knee is a crazy thing man. You could be grabbing something out of the fridge and it can go out on you. Do what you have to do man and I would for sure get a second opinion from a sports DR. Definately seek someone that has experience treating athletes and working through their injuries.

Jeff

PS, Did I mention that really sucks?
Got TRI?
