Injury
Any one ever dealt with this? Pain in front of ankle when I run or move my foot up and down. It feels ok to walk but too painfull to run. If you have had this what did you do for it and how long b4 you could run again? I think I would almost rather deal with pain than to not be able to run. I did a long walk this morning with minimal pain.
No longer about weight , it's all about living.
Yep. Two weeks ago, after my last 10.5 run. I followed RICE: Rest (cross trained on eliptical, no running for a week). Wrapped with an ACE. Kept it elevated when sitting around house.
Had a friend of mine, who is a nurse, come take a look. She said more than likely a tendinitis, but if the swelling continued, or bruising, to defiinately go to doc to make sure no stress fracture was present.
Just come back gingerly....

Every morning in Africa , a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.

It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

It depends on where in front of the ankle. If it's the top of the foot and you have issues with mobility, you could have damaged the mortis which is the section that joins the foot and the leg. I have actually separated my mortis and was casted for 3 months.
When I was out of the cast, it hurt anytime I bent my foot or put pressure on it and it was in a flexed position. If it is irritated then you should ice it but long slow stretches will be the best thing you could do. Take the workout bands and put it on the ball of your foot and press down, then grab the band around where your knee is and pull up so your toes are towards your nose. I'd repeat this with ice and you should be feeling better.
The trick with the mortis is no fast jarring movements. If it's inflaimed, it is delicate and can blow up again quickly. So walking at best and stretching until it feels back to 80%. Good luck.
