lotion or creams for loose skin?
Stretch marks are damaged skin. You can't repair the damage though some creams will hide it a bit.

Previous poster is correct - "stretch marks" are from damaged skin. However, some other post-opers have told me that they've had minor improvements from using "skin firming" lotions like Jergens and such.
Doing occassional coffee grinds or using other caffinated skin creams helps have a tiny bit of a "tightening effect" on skin. Doesn't make stretch marks disappear, but it helps minimize the appearance.
In terms of just making the ugly lumps and such a little less visable.... I've started using a fake-tanning lotion, and that helps in masking it a bit. Which is nice for an Irish-German girl like me who is literally incapable of tanning........ :)
