Mamma needs a new pair of shoes!
Okay, so my Under Armor shoes, that I got Labor Day weekend, I think are failing me. I know my feet have shrunk... and they are still comfy, but the past few weeks, my right foot has suffered. It's not PF, but more that I think I am pronating...more so after about mile 7 when I start to fatigue and no****ch my form or have a lower gait.
ANYWAY, I am curious what brand of shoes you all have and recommend. I run primarily on streets, some on gravel shoulder, but mostly the pavement.
What brand are you hooked on??

Every morning in Africa , a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.

It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

my sneaker folks tell me to replace every 6 months, so your shoes may just be worn out.
I've got a great pair of Saucony that make me very happy.

I have heard similar, I think something like every 500 miles. I haven't been tracking mileage. But...when I get my new ones, I will track it on mapymyrun.

I've heard 200-400 miles as well. It kind of depends on how you run, where you run, how heavy you are, etc. as to how fast they wear out.
Did you get them fitted at a running store?

I got my Under Armors at Lady Foot Locker. They are "neutral", which the sales person said was perfect for me at that time, as I hadn't been pronating at all when walking. She watched me walk, looked at the shoes I had on...but that was about it.
I didn't start running until October....
The heel seems to be wearing fairly even, but I can tell a bit of wear pattern different from L to R shoe. Also, I am 53 lbs. lighter now than I was back then (at goal now). I like my Under Armors, but when I look at what other female runners are wearing at races, well....mine look "heavy"
by comparrison (if that makes sense).

Well at least she watched you walk. That's more than I ever got from a Foodlocker. OTOH, I got my shoes at a running store and they not only watched me walk, but also video taped me running on a treadmill and had a computer thingie that took a map of my feet when I stood on a pad.
I think it's really worth it to go to a place where the people are trained to fit your shoes and have the high tech equipment because not having the proper shoes can really mess up your body.

The running dept where I went said every 300 miles to replace them. They watched my gait and I tried about 8 different pairs and got the Asics. They've been great, but I only walk.

Im just got some new Brooks Dyad sneakers. I have super high arches and my feet reallt roll to the outside (pronate?) I went to a running store where they watched my gait and had me jog a bit outside in each pair to see what was most comfortable. I am thrilled with my new sneakers and already have less leg pain. Hugely important to have good shows. They told me to replace every 350 to 500 miles depending on wear but with my extreme feet they said I might want to come in around the 300 mile mark. Worth spending the extra money and replacing shoes more frequently than risk injury which is way more costly in the long run. I say get yourself a new comfy pair!
