Doughnuts and Cookies during workouts... not losing weight
Does anyone else have any issues with not losing weight while working out? I have been fueling my workouts with one glaze doughnut and several oreo cookies. I have a lot of energy initially and then my energy levels plummit. Once I hit rock bottom, it seems that another cookie or part of a doughnut seems to perk me right back up. Then I lose energy again and the cycle happens again and again.
I ran my furthest run last week of 1.5 miles and I ended up eating more calories than I burned. I ate three glaze doughnuts and five cookies which totaled 950 calories. My calorie counter tells me that I burned only 325 calories. I had to stop four times during my run. First stop at .35 into the run to fuel again with a half of a doughnut and then at .50 mile for a cookie. I got out of breath and had to sit on the curb at mile .65 and I finished off another glaze and the inside of three oreos. I kept the outside for additional carbs which got me through .85-1.1. I had to almost crawl the last tenth of a mile as I was out of nutrition. When I got home, I carb loaded with several pieces of bread and butter and I felt pretty recovered.
So if anyone else has other nutrition ideas let me know. I have decided to buy a dozen doughnuts at the beggining of the week and a box fo oreos and that should get me through the weeks workouts. I am hoping to run 4 miles this week which should be a personal record for me.
Thanks everyone and I am glad to be amongst a strong group of fellow endurance athletes. Now if I could only figure out why I am gaining weight while exercising, that would be great.

Duane, I hear what you are saying, but I don't want start dumping due to being lactose intolerant. I really hope I can hit 2.0 miles before the end of 2011.

Run an ultra, eat a couple pizzas.
It's all good.

The first time you do something - It's going to be a personal record!
Scott, I will look into it but I think Pizza is probably very high in calories. I'm hoping to lose weight not gain weight Scott.

Jeff,
My suggestion: Switch up the regular generic donuts to KRISPY CREME donuts. A ton more lard and more sugar in the "glaze". Should perk ya right up!
Oh, and how about Double Stuff Oreo's?

Every morning in Africa , a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.

It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.
