So I am finding answers on both sides of this question
Do you weigh your foods before or after cooking.
I know that cooking will change the weight of food quite a bit.
4 ounces of ground turkey or hamburger isn't going to weigh the same after you grill it.

I have the question out to my dietician already, but while waiting for an answer I thought I would ask here as well.

Just got the response from the Dietician
AFTER cooking

i have never weighed any food... but i would guess the cooked weight is a true representation... if you owned a restraunt you would sale items pre cooked weight. 12 oz steak cooked is more like 9.5

I always do after cooking too.
Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.
Every morning in
Africa, a lion wakes up.
It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.
