Thank you!  I have trouble running on a treadmill because I learned how to run on pavement/asphalt.   It's really different, and I discovered it's because my pace isn't constant that I struggled with the treadmill BUT I have to say I swear by treadmill training I did recently for helping me stay more consistent with my pace during the half.  It forced me to breathe through my difficulties and stay on pace which takes a lot of effort fo rme.............My next 5K is on May 29, and my next Half is Sept 18.

I will have to do a race or two in between so I don't get rusty though.  :-)  Training without races for me is too tricky.

Congrats, Kernie!

I think it's funny that your surgeon doesn't quite get it. I've actually got two of my surgeon's employees racing now. They said I inspired them, which tickles me to no end!

Thanks Marie.............it is funny........especially since the Program Coordinator is a former tri...........she did it for her first three years post-op.  She did shorter distances but still.........she was competing annually.

My surgeon's former assistant was a runner, but she left the practice.  It turned out that she ran my first post-op walk/run in Oct 08 and I was so inspired by that I never stopped.........everyone there was shocked, I remember, because I was only two months post-op and I was doing it..........
