Zumba
I've never taken the class, because it is PACKED at my gym every time it is offered. It sure looks like fun, and those people SWEAT! I'm sure you could probably do it at home, but there's something to be said for the motivation an actual instructor provides. I have a ton of workout DVDs, but I prefer to take classes at my gym. Right now, I do strength/endurance training, kickboxing, and spin. They're HARD, but I feel so accomplished afterward... and I know I wouldn't push myself that hard if I did it at home!

Zumba is so much fun! I go three times a week usually. I was bummed my class was cancelled today! You burn between 600 and 900 calories in an hour! Get to the gym early and stake out a spot behind the instructor. Do not worry no one will be looking at you; they will be watching the instructor.

I haven't Zumba'd yet... I see the classes at the Y that I go to, and have thought about it. It may be a good alternative cross training!

Every morning in Africa , a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.

It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

I've been to about 4 zumba classes. Good fun, work up a sweat, but I don't always last the full hour. maybe my age (48), or weight (232lbs) or the fact that my feet hurt after walking around in high heels all day at work.
I am not sure about DVDs... I have a couple but have only really used the one for my swiss ball and even then I can't stay the distance, so to speak.
I think the benefit of a class is that it is more social and more like dance class rather than "EXERCISE" , I'm happier doing something fun... than focussing on just working out, less of a chore that way.
