at PT, they use a foam roller to massage my IT Band.  I bought one for home and it's the best thing ever!  runnersworld.com has videos showing how to massage all kinds of muscles.   My hips/butt haven't been this happy in a long time!

I am getting one too! I have never used one, but was tempted to grab the rolling pin or pain roller! Have you seen The Stick? Same concept I think!  I will look at video on runnersworld.com

Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.
Every morning in
Africa, a lion wakes up.
It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

I have both. I much prefer the The Stick.

If I'm super tight, I use The Stick, then I foam roll, then I uses The Stick again.

Definately want to try the Stick. The gym has rollers, I guess I never really knew WHAT they were for! Anxious to get out there and try using one.

I haven't found the Stick, except online.

I have a foam roller and The Stick. I think The Stick is better at loosing up everything all around but the foam roller is good for getting out deep knots and tightness. So I use them both. I "stick" first to loosen everything up, then foam roll, then do my PT exercises, then "stick" again.

I have recently started having problems out of my IT band and having bursitis in my right hip. my doc told me to check into yoga/pilates but i also have a bulging disc in my lower back and have problems exercising especially being on the floor. I have to stretch my back in my bed before I can even get up in the morning or else I'll be hurting all day. (I sit at a computer all day in an old chair that has no cushion and our company wont replace them and other co-workers are starting to have occasional back problems). I'm going to check into the website you listed and any other advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!!!
