Ok, so the treamill sucks. After 10 miles on it, I couldn't handle another second of it. I never want to do that again!

I'm not sure what it is about treadmills. Maybe it is my lack of coordination, or that I pound the deck. Maybe it is my flailing arms when I run... I don't know. What I do know is that I cannot run worth a crap on it!  I will take the outdoors, rain or shine, over the treadmill.  If I can't get outside, I opt for the eliptical.

Besides, why run like a hamster and not get anywhere?
Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.

It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

I have a hardcore running friend who does 20 miles on the TM regularly.  He scares me.

I'm with you.  Hate the TM.  It takes a lot not to run outside.

Bleck.   You are very determined and I am awed by someone who will do a 10 miler on a treadmill!

Like others, I would rather take it outside, rain or shine, or opt for the elliptical.

I have been told that the pull of the treadmill is not good for one's knees over extended periods.  Have you (or anyone else) ever heard anything about that?  Just wondered.

I think I would rather get skinned alive with a piece jagged broken glass than run on that dang thing!!!

I decided that if I ever had to run more than 13 on the treadmill, I'd go to a mink farm and douse myself in honey and let them have at me. Then I couldn't run for at least a month, so the urge to run on a treadmill will be gone. It's drastic but definately the right thing to do.

I hear you, I hate them.  The only good things about them is the convenience/safety factor and the ability to set specific speeds for interval work etc.

I'd much rather have a nice run with some friends outside than to be running elbow to elbow on the treadmill.  It's just mind numbing.

Am I done yet, Am I done yet, Am I done yet? That is what happens when I run on the treadmill.

The first time you do something - It's going to be a personal record!

I think that the treadmill should count like dog years.  One mile on the treadmill should equal seven outside.
