Skechers Shape ups?
Ions before they came out I spent a good amount of $$ on MBT, which is the same thing.
They DID help my back while at work on 12 hour shifts on a hard cement floor.
Did they tone my legs? Minimal at best, but made walking significantly easier during shifts.
I agree with the others...will it live up to the commercial and make you tone? No. Do you still need to go to the gym and do some other sort of exercise? Absolutely.

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

I don't think they do a darned thing for fitness -- *maybe* a little extra work on the calves but I don't see how they "promote weight loss." That said, they were a lifesaver to me when I was pre-op. I could not walk for more than 20 minutes without severe pain in my lower back. The shape-ups radically improved my posture and I was able to comfortably walk and be on my feet for hours.
I just convinced my husband to get a pair for the same reason -- he's been having lower back pains from sciatica. He's still getting used to the rolling motion but he said that he feels like he's standing a little straighter which alleviates some of the pressure.
So, LSS, I think they're great for improving posture and relieving lower back pain if you have trouble being on your feet for a long time. But for fitness, a regular ole pair of sneakers for walking or running will do you better.

im not surprised at the guy's reactions lol ...to tell you the truth, i got a pair of the Sketchers Shape-Ups about 2 months ago. the reason i got them was because i have Plantar Fasciitis and a client said they helped her tremendously with her fasciitis. well, i have to agree! they may look a little funny and feel a little funny at first, but they've been the best thing for my issue. as for toning? well, perhaps its in my head, but yes, ive seen a difference, but who's to say its not due to increasing my protein and walking more?? lol
i love them. thats my story and im sticking to it.
