New to this and need some advice!
Hello! I am new to this forum!!!
Quick Intro: My name is Amanda, and i had the RNY on Dec. 31, 2009.
Starting weight was around 304, current weight is 220!
I want to start a realistic work out plan. I have never really excersiced and have no clue where to start. Gyms are intimdating (just being honest). I have a 2 year old so i need something quick and easy and that could possible be done at home (after she goes to bed).... Any suggestions?
I had thought about p90X but Im scared to spend the money for something that is so out of reach. It appears to be very intense!
I "TRY" to get in a 30 min walk on my breaks at work... but just want to start doing more! Please help! :)

I am a newcomer to P90X but have been working out regularly for 2 years...and P90X is kicking my butt-it is very intense. You may not be ready for that, however, try Power 90-same trainer as P90X, Tony Horton, and it is also sold by Beachbody.com. It is a good precursor to P90X

I used this workout for several years as well as treadmill, free weights, nautilus and other DVD workouts. For a fun alternative, try Yoga Booty Ballet. I like to mix it up, so I do all kinds of different things....the Wii fit is also a good alternative, but I don't find the workouts very challenging. You are doing the right thing! Get into the exercise habit now.

hi, i dont really post on this board often, but your situation is very similar to mine so i thought i would share.
I had RNY Surgery on february 9th and have gone from 300 to 228. I also have a 2 year old. I was walking 4 miles a day outside... but as the weather heats up and "nature" is comming out (aka: deer, snakes, and fox), ive decided to cut back to just 1 or 2 miles a day outside and ive gotten myself a secondhand treadmill so that after my son goes to bed i can get in a "real" workout. i also find that fun workout dvd's keep me motivated. ive recently tried belly dancing and i love it! also had weights you can do all day--even with your son. i got my son some 1 pound weights and i have 8 pounders... we do the exercises and he loves it!
