I think I'm naming my soon to be bike Calypso Blue. LOL. I love the song Calypso by John Denver.

Calypso Blue is a great name!  You're gonna love it!  Took her for a cruise tonight and it rode like a charm!  Enjoy-

My wife and I both ride and started out with Trek Navigators.  They are what is called a comfort bike (most manufacuters have a version).  The comfort bikes are made mainly for riding on trails for short distances (less than 20 miles).  Before you settle on a comfort bike, I suggest that you look into renting bikes and riding them not only to see if you like a certain one, but, what we found was that we enjoyed riding so much we were riding longer distances and needed to change to hybrid bikes.  A hybrid is a cross between a road bike and mountain bike with some of the comfort bike features thrown in.  Unless you are absolutely sure that you are not going to be riding more than 20 miles at a time and only on trails, I would suggest at looking at the hybrid bikes as well.  And as was stated earlier don't forget the extras that you will need, they add up quickly.  And I agree that going to a reputable local bike shop is the way to go, because they will work with you to get the right size frame and adjust the bike to you, in addition to the adjustments and repairs that will come down the road.
What ever you get, enjoy it.

I did purchase the Trek Calypso cruiser.  It's fantastic.  I took it for a nice spin tonight.  Just starting back on the bike after many years.  Don't supppose I'll be in a race any time soon, but this is a good start.  A hybrid may be next and I'm sure my daughter will love the cruiser!

Thanks for your suggestions...
Have fun!
