I did it!!! I climbed The Incline!
I cannot belive it, but I actually climbed The Incline this morning! The last time I was able to climb it, without gasping for air was in 8th grade!
You may be asking what the heck is The Incline. Well let me tell you.
In brief, the Incline is the roadbed to the former Mount Manitou Scenic Incline Railway — a cable car that took people up the eastern face of Pikes Peak to about 8,600' before shutting down in 1990. The steepest section is at a grade of 68% with the average grade just over 40%. Here is a picture of what the incline looks like:
