Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone had the issue of losing too much weight?? I am very happy I had the surgery (GB/04-20-10) and maybe I am just being paranoid, but I am concerned about losing too much weight.  I started off at 217lbs the day of the surgery and my goal is 150lbs.  I was hoping someone out there could touch on this subject; either through your own experience oo someone you know. Thanks a bunch and happy to join this community.

I would say get to goal and see how you feel...

I was at 221 day of surgery and am 136 now (eight month's later). I had originally put my goal at 150 as well, but then re-adjusted it to a "normal BMI" which 135 puts me just at the top of that. I do think my body will go lower, but I figure that bounce back weight gain will put me at a nice spot. I'm 5'2 so a shorty.

I’ve lost 160 lb in just short of 11 months. Whether that’s “too much" or not I don’t know, but I’m still not at what I consider my goal. I would be satisfied with losing another 10 lb but really want to do another 14. I have a lot of excess skin, though, which is skewing my perception of how I really look.

some people lose more than they decide is good for them.  They bounce back.  Sometimes it takes effort, sometimes not.

Our "goal" weights often don't relate to our new bodies either.  I'm much smaller in size than I was the last time I weighed what I do now.  Bone density changes, and with all my exercise, muscle tone is different.  Just have a general goal, but then be open to whatever happens - the real goal is to be healthy!
