garmin 405 battery

have any of you replaced the battery in a garmin 405?

my husband's watch is totally dead. hard reset didn't work. having trouble finding the "star shaped" screwdriver thingy for the back. have a new battery-can't get the watch open.

stores around here don't open till 12, just wondering if anyone has run into this.

I haven't, and some of the products are factory replace only.
The owners manual is listed below, but i didn't see anything about replacing the watch battery, just the heart rate monitor.  I"m seeing things on the user forum that say it's not user replaceable.
And it seems that garmin has a flat rate for repairs.  Is the watch still under warranty?

thanks Scott that was all I found too. The watch is 2 years old. The sporting goods store he bought it from is going to call Garmin for him today. They didn't know either.

From what I could see he may have to send it in and in the old days there was a $99 charge.

He has a marathon coming up on May 22 and is not a happy camper right now
