Hey Guys,

I got a rare Sunday run in. 12 miles on a TOUGH trail. UP / DOWN, switchbacks, mud, roots, trees to duck under, poison ivy to run through, IT WAS A BLAST!!!! Finished in just under 2:10:00. It was an awesome, gorgeous morning! Deer running through the trails, the smell of spring in the air, the sun shining @ 65 degree weather, the sounds of the cascading river to run along side... It is truly amazing the beauty that surrounds us, and I am so grateful for it! WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY????

Bill,

A 10-12 day Taper might night be a bad idea for you, as hard as you work your body. You need to go into this race 100% so you can pulverize the competition! I would recommend taking it ver easy and eating lots of Protein to help get your body 100% and come into the race fresh and revitalized, rather than tired and overtrained like 75% of the athletes are. You are going to destroy that course bro...

This morning I joined friends for our annual spring half marathon brunch run around the lake.  Knowing that I don't have a strong base, yet, I took it slow and steady.  The strategy paid off and I was able to complete the 13.1 miles without aggravating the knee.  Now, it's time for the ice bath.

I agree, I'd much rather exercise outside if I can! Unfortunately, it's raining like crazy today so I went to the gym. Did intervals on the bike, then a pretty intense workout in the weight room. I'm pooped!

A nice 2.3 mile run this morning and a 3 mile walk this afternoon.  I've developed an aversion to the gym since the weather has turned and is so spring-like - hopefully I'll get out of this funk soon though!!

Rest day for me. Right calve muscle sore from run yesterday. ICE bath did help though! Just did some brisk power shopping/walking thru GNC and Target ... after a long jacuzzi and sauna.  ROUGH WORKOUT DAY -  LOL

It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

walked 12 miles with two shelter dogs (split into two walks back to back), loved that I was able to put a 10 month old obnoxious lab pup to shame... me the lady who used to have trouble just walking up her own stairs.

Pushed it to my max today. Started out thinking a 9 mile run (would have been my greatest distant)would have done it. Got to 9mi. and thought...let's go more! 4 laps around the Rose Bowl...WOW! Approx. 12.5 miles in 2 hours 4 minutes. What a blast...not so much now with sore and tired legs
