New to this section...
Hey everyone! I'm Morgan and I had RNY on 1/5/10. I started out just walking, and slowly worked my way up from there. I now train with a personal trainer 2 days a week with weights/strength, once on my own, and then do 3 days of intense cardio. I also do light cardio on the strength days (like 30min).
I am running (I'm sure there will be some walking as well!) in my first 5k on May 1st. I have no ambitions of winning or even having a decent race time. I'm doing it to say I did it, because a year ago there is no way I'd have even attempted it!
Anyways....I just wanted to say Hi!

Hey there Morgan, Welcome! I'm fairly new to this forum as well...I think since about January? Anyway, it's been great, helpful, and good people!
So, "HI!" back at ya!

Every morning in Africa , a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.
Every morning inAfrica , a lion wakes up.
It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.
