Got out this morning at 6am for a nice 9-mile run before the sun got intense.  My running partner needs to avoid the sun until her face chemo session are completed, so it's either later at night or early in the morning,  Last long run before the Philadelphia 10-mile Broad Street Run.  It's got 30,000 people signed up, and it's been sold out for the last three months.  For the first time, and what looks like something that will be happening more and more, female runners make up at least 55% of the registered runners.  Hope that they plan the facilities accordingly.  Last year, they didn't do a very good job with the port-a-potties.  This race is known as the fastest 10-miler in the U.S. because it basically is a gradual straight downhill for the entire 10 miles.  Gotta get there early in the morning.

3:30 pm,, and stomach felt better...empty but better. So i did a quick run on my 1.7 mile route (the route I first ran on).
time: 17:30
pace 10:16
mph 5.83

I think I prefer my runs in the morning. Maybe because I'm still half asleep and uaware of how ridiculous it is to be out in the rain. Or maybe simply cuz I am better rested than late in the day.

Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.
Every morning in
Africa, a lion wakes up.
It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

Today was just a cardio day for me so I did 30min on the treadmill for a total of 1.9 miles...1/2 was walking 1/2 was jogging.

Then I did 45min on the elliptical and did 2.8 miles. Saturdays are my kind of "moderate" cardio days I guess. I did however burn like 960 some odd calories so I'm happy with it! lol

Got a 10 mile run in today.  Like Rob, this is my last long run before the Broad Street Run next Sunday.  I am really looking forward to this one.

10  minutes elliptical, 1 hour yoga class followed by a 1.75 mile run. The run, or should I say jog, wasn`t pretty after almost a month of no running, but still felt great to get out there.

Long run day: 28 Mile run. My 26.2 time was 5:21:22 and I didn't time myself on the last two miles. Set out for 31 but end of the day yard work was on the honey-do-list. Traveling to CA next week so 3 hours of yard work after a 28 miler is not something I recommend.

Although, pulling weeds did force me to stretch those hammies out and man, did that feel good.

Got TRI?

I attended a triathlon clinic put on by Gina Kehr. It was awesome! I thought I wasn't getting much exercise but I was dead by the end of it. We practiced mounts and dismounts, transitions, and did a bunch of open water swimming. I learned a new technique to get around the buoys tighter.
