Robert Cheruiyot's mile that included Heartbreak Hill was in 4:37. His average pace was 4:48/mi. His average 5K time over the course was 14:52. Imagine running 26.2mi with the treadmill on 12.5-13.

He sprinted a marathon.

I couldn't run 1 mile at that pace let alone 26.2 miles.

The first time you do something - It's going to be a personal record!

unreal, ain't it?  I don't have a prayer of running 2:05 on my 1/2 marathon, nevermind a full!!!!
And heartbreak hill being one of his faster miles???  Outrageous.  I'm gonna tackle that hill someday!

That's the kind of stuff I think about too (when I take the time).

A friend of mine did Boston yesterday.  She's 56 and made it in 4:09 and change.  I was pretty thrilled for her!  I'd like to be able to do that one day myself...

We had few local people that ran it. Jason Pyles is what I call a local elite, ran it in 2:35:10, 5:55 pace. Came in 126 over all and 103 in the 18 to 39 age division. His wife ran it in 3:09:14, 7:15 pace.
Robert Smith, who owns the local running shoe store ran it in 2:42:00, 6:11 pace, 255 over all and 207 in the same division and Jason.
In stead of local elites, probably should call them elites. 126 out of over 23,000 finishers.
