Hey there to all you experienced runners! I was just wondering about carb intake when training for 10Ks and above.  On Vertical Sleeve Talk they are all about low carbs (30 grams or less) and I've been doing this but as I'm running more and more I feel like I'm not getting enough energy. Does anyone have a rough estmiate of about how many grams per day they take in? And extra brownie points for examples of specific foods or a sample day :-)) thanks guys!!!!

O.K. so not a sleeve patient, we do have some here though.
After talking with the dietician at my dr's office (they preach a strict 3 meals a day plan) She altered my meals to 5 a day.  1 before my workout 30-60 mins and one after.
I still try for the same calories as the three meals, but now I have something before and after.

But she cautioned that if I stop working out, I should drop back to 3 meals a day.

Hopefully Marie will chime in, i blieve she had a VSG.

Thanks Scott! that makes sense that if one should stop working out they don't need to go over that three meals a day.  But with working out it's almost impossible to not have those two snacks. Lol. Anyways, how many miles do you run a week and how many grams of carbs do you take in a day? EVen though you or a lot of other runners on this board don't have the sleeve you still eat carbs for energy right???
