Question for you guys...

I was a big runner prior to my surgery (yes, I could run a 1/2 marathon at 190-200lbs and I'm only 5'4") and one of my first questions to the doctor was how soon after surgery can I run.

He's told me I can start running again at 2 weeks.

Did you guys find the same? Or did it take longer and/or hurt to start running that soon?

thanks. JB

I was back in the gym at 2 weeks. I wasn't running because I was still convinced I couldn't. :D But I was doing other things and I don't see why I couldn't have been running.

There was NO way I could have ran at two weeks! hehe Of course I weight a lot more then you. I still wear my abdominal binder when I run to hold my fat in place so it doesn't flap up and down so much while I'm jogging/walking.

My surgeon gave a blanket six week period before doing an intense exercise before you go back in to see him. I started the C25K program at four weeks out because I was inspired by people on this thread!! hehe It was GREAT!
