Tis been discussed before re: running appetite

WOW! I thought that once i finished my training for the half that the appetite would settle down..well, it did until the last few days. I've began doing 4 mile runs during lunch and the "I could eat a horse!" feeling is baaaaack. I read on a few other places that this means your body is lacking in calories - but I did a nice snack and lunch afterward and a pre run snack so i thought i would avoid this...wow! this is intense!

I'm almost at that 2 yr mark where they say the bounceback will come on its own...dear Lord, I don't want to do anything to help it along that's for sure.

How do you friggin deal with this?

Be happy.

I have noticed the day or two after the really long runs I am famished constantly.  I am actually contemplating getting a fill in my band.

I track all my calories -- in and out -- so that I know if I'm balancing them out. Most of the time, when I feel hungry, it's because I really need the calories and, by tracking, I know it's okay to eat them.

I do the same as MacMadame. I log everything in, and log my expenditures (workouts, BMR, etc.) I think it is normal to be famished after long runs and HARD workouts. Replenshing the body...just make good choices!
Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.

It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.
