Half Marathon Finisher!
I did it folks! I finished my first half marathon. It started at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. I was feeling really great and my pace was just right. By mile 9 my knee started hurting and I had to slow down a whole lot. I hated that. I have been nursing some type of knee injury for a while now. However, I would not let that stop me. I continued on! At this point I was running alone. I started looking around for others. The police saw me and said, "Don't worry! You are doing great! There are a lot of people behind you." That made me feel good! I then knew I wouldn't be last! (lol) I have never been so excited to see the Cowboy Stadium!!! So I limped a half way jog into the tunnel and on to the field! Looking at my video of me headed to the finish line on the biggest screen in the world was exhilerating! Everyone was cheering, my family had posters, and the cameras were flashing. I could have gotten a better time if my knee hadn't given out on me. However, my time was 3:07! I was very proud of that when I found out there were people who finished at 4 hours or more! Now I have a time to beat for my next one!I got my first Half Marathon Medal!!! Thanks for your support here on the forum and the great advice I received! You guys are awesome!
I have to add, the Salvation Army Volunteers were the BEST! They were motivating and supporting us all along the way!
Now what?
