I'd love to hear everyone's favorite workout music.  I really need music with around 140 beats per minute to use when I'm on the elliptical machine.  Thanks!!

im totally into the techno and house music at the moment. ive got a whole list on youtube for my 'audio adrenaline'. lol put some of that on and my housework suddenly becomes almost bearable... if im walking then my pace is faster and isnt as boring. search different people on youtube and then buy who you like at amazon or wherever.

Okay, so I'm a little weird. When I walk in my neighborhood, I listen to Irish music on my Ipod. The soundtracks to The Lord of the Dance and Riverdance have some really catchy tunes!

I'v weaned myself off of headphones when running on the road, but in the gym, I generally I listen to christian rock (Pillar, TFK), but I have noticed my ideal running song is surfing with the alien by Joe Satriani...

If you want Beats per minute music check out Podrunner.
It's free and they have a ton of DJ music that you can chose from based on the beats per minute.

Personally I like harder classic rock, and I like some rap.
Right now my two favorites are Till I collapse and Lose yourself by Eminem

Definitely techno if you're looking for upbeat.  Some of my favorites:

DJ Encore featuring Englina
DJ Encore featuring Unique
DJ Sammy
Alice DJ (Better Off Alone CD - or it has that song)

There's lots of others where I like one or two of there songs off of compilations CD's, but one of the reasons I like most of the songs off of each of their CD's of the people above is that they are all upbeat & they have female vocals.  I do so love singing!  Just not while working out :)  Still awesome music.  Way fun!

when i was running today "She's a Maniac" from the Flashdance soundtrack came on.  It definitely got me moving and isn't something that everyone has on their Ipod!

I'm with you Scott.  Lose Yourself is one of my favorites when running.  I also like Fort Minor "Remember the Name".  My playlists are mainly made up of classic rock, IE, AC/DC, Stones, ZZ Top, Van Halen, etc, etc.  I do like to listen to Metallica and some of the heavier stuff while I run.
