Friday Workouts

I had to do some serious self-talk to get myself to the pool this morning. I just plain ol' didn't wanna. But...I did. I was in the water at 6:00 a.m. and did 35 minutes non-stop laps. Once I got started I got in a groove and felt really strong. Sometimes you just have to smack yourself around when you're feeling lazy! At least *I* do.

What'd you do today?

Good luck with your ride!  I totally admire anyone who can ride like that.  One day I will get there.  It's all a progression, right?  :-)

Rest Day today.  Doing some serious self talk as well!

My longest run is 4.36 miles, pretty intense and hilly with long grades up to 7%.   Tomorrow I want to run 6.57 (a bit over a 10k), with elevation ranges from -2% to 2%. So, not as hilly, but longer.  I go back and forth with "it's greater distance but should require less engergy then the hills". Then I panic and think "You are nuts!" followed by my 15 yr. old telling me I can't do it.

*sigh*  So, I think I will be smacking myself in the morning, and heading out for a LONG run (long for me, at least)

Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.
Every morning in
Africa, a lion wakes up.
It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

Kathy,

This post cracked me up.  I have a 15 year old too.  You have to love teenagers.  LOL

Take care,
