Tuesday workouts
Ahh, FINALLY back at the gym today!!!
Biked for 7 minute warm up
Weights - bench, assisted chin up & dead lift
Knee lifts on roman chair
Rowed for 20 minutes
Got to tell my trainer about my race on Saturday - he was just as pumped as I was - he even told a couple of the regular guys about it b/c they came up and congratulated me! I'm not much of a talker when I'm there, I usually stick to myself, but this morning I was beaming! :)

I just got back from a 90 minute hot yoga class - for some reason I struggled more than usual today!! Glad I got through it though :)
I'd love to do running but am still daunted by it. I have osteoathritis in my feet and ankles but think I use that as a bit of an excuse. Right, gonna take the motivation from here and attempt a run around the reservoir in Central Park before work on Friday morning!! I will report back :)

35 minutes on weights then soaked in the jacuzzi. Got home tonight, and power was out in area, so headed back to Y and did 30 on elipitical.
Every morning in Africa , a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.

It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

We did a track workout that was really fun. We divided into groups. Group 1 was the fastest and Group 3 was the slowest.
Group 2 partnered up with each other. One partner ran around the track while the other partner waited. Then they switched.
Group 1 partnered up with Group 3. Group 1 ran around the track *with* their Group 3 partner at the Group 3 partner's pace and then ran around the track without them at their normal pace while the Group 3 person rested.
So Group 3's got to have less rest than if they'd been in Group 2 and Group 1 got a harder workout because their "rest" lap was just running slower, not standing around.
Since I am recovering from an injury, I was in Group 3. I ended up with 2 Group 1 partners and, for my first lap, they pushed me pretty hard but one of them was worn out by our second lap so sometimes he rested and sometimes he didn't. My other partner is trying to turn pro so he's pretty fast, but by the last lap, I had worn him out too and was running faster than he could keep up!
You can imagine how fun it was to say "I wore out [Fast Guy]"
