I do Gu and G2 gatorade and do OK.
At the Whiterock Marathon I did Gu and regular gatorade and it made me ill during the race.

Whatever you decide to do, practice it home.

Thanks everyone. Very useful information. I will definately practice ahead of time with a Cliff bar. I too an a Pure Protein aholic. Have been since immediately post op. Sending ALL THOSE wrappers to Scott !!!

I have will focus on carb before and protein after...that makes perfect sense!

Thanks again!

Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.

It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

I disagree with Dan, the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip bars are amazing. I am a dumper K., and I am sensitive to almost everything. Cliff bars took a week to get used to but if you can tolorate oatmeal with brown sugar splenda or honey, you should be fine here.

I also take the orawheat 70 calorie breads with a little peanut butter and honey on then prior to a run. One of those and a cliff bar get me through 10 miles plus my calories from water.

Good luck.

Thanks Jeff,
I can totally tolerate oatmeal with brown sugar splenda. I also use the Orowheat or Sara Lee Multi-grain 70 or 90 calorie, respectively, breads just fine.
I will try the Cliff Bars and see if I dump on them or not, but will definately try after a workout just in case.

Thanks again!
Kathy
