I am only 9 weeks out and am having my bike tuned up.  I still have much weight to lose.

How overweight wre you when you started riding?  I don't want to "hurt" my bike.

Yes I was, I think I still weighed 330 or so when I started riding my bike.

What kind of bike is it.  Some times you can check the manufacturers web site and find info on safety ratings, etc.

The first time you do something - It's going to be a personal record!

I rode my giant yukon before I even got surgery at 430.  The good thing about riding is there are bikes for every size and shape.

You should be fine at that weight. Most bikes can hold at least 300 pounds though some of the older ones have issues if you are over 250. But you're under both of those.

I rode my mountain bike when I was that weight and had no issues whatsoever.
