race day...finally!!!!

So my race for today is at 1pm - when weather.com is predicting a 95% chance of rain - go figure!

I'm not opposed to running in the rain, in fact I kind of like it.  I am however a bit nervous because I've never run without my ipod!  It's only 4 miles, but I've NEVER run without music...like ever.  Don't get me wrong, I was going to start doing a couple runs a week without it just to get used to it, but I didn't think today would be the day!

I also wanted to use my Nike+ so I could see where I was at distance and pace-wise, but I'm hesitant to use either one now...stupid rain...guess I'll have to see how it is at race time!

I'm lame...I ran with my ipod today!

But it's all good, I had a great race and PR'd, so yay!!  4 miles in 36:58 - a 9:58 pace - I'm not going to lie, I was pretty pumped about my time!!  And it was totally pouring rain, windy and freezing out...but hey, at least it wasn't snow!!

Katie if that was your time and it was exactly 4 miles, your pace was NOT 9:58 p/ mile, it was 9:14 p/ mile... GREAT JOB!!! (That's about 6.7ish MPH on treadmill)

I copied my time & pace off the sheets posted after the race - I didn't think the pace made sense, I figured it out myself and got 9:15 (roughly), but I know the time is right.  That's what I get for not keeping track myself!!  I couldn't believe my time, when I ran my first 5k (Nov. '09) my time was 34:36, so I was pumped that I've gotten so much better.
