Today was a great exercise day...I started a new upper body workout with the trainer.  Was at the gym for about an hour and a half.  So I did weights mixed with cardio and then after dinner tonight I took my Shepherd out for a little walk.

Brief warm-up on the treadmill, plus weight training.  Because I was short on time today, I jumped rope between weight sets.  All three of my kids are now involved in spring activities, so I'm going to have to get creative with my time.

Rest day for me. Quads are sore from workout (hill run) yesterday...
Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.
Every morning in
Africa, a lion wakes up.
It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

Today I swam 3800 Meters in 1:07:17, then I ran 3.1 miles on dreadmill, followed that with climbing 110 flights of stairs on the Stairmaster in 20 minutes, followed by 20 minutes of stretching. A solid day...

Geez, you're an animal!

When you swim for that long, do you do all crawl stroke, or do you mix it up?

Yes, I crawl, or freestyle the whole way... I usually stop for 10 seconds every 1250 meters for a quick drink and keep going non stop.... If the workout is 2500M or less I do not stop at all... If I am doing drills, that's different, but right now, volume is key and not speed... I have a 12.5 mile Open Water swim coming up in 5 months so it's all about distance.... 20K of swimming goodness!!!
