My daughter was awesome yesterday at the Texas High Schooo Women's Powerlifting Association Regional Meet. Texas high school are divided up in different classifications based on the size of the high school with 1A being the smallest and 5A being the largest. My daughter goes to Skidmore-Tynan High School which is a small 2A high school. At the regional meet she has to compete against all classifications. She placed 6th in her weight class setting personal records in all 3 lifts. She was also the top 2A lifter in her weight class. It was an awesome experience. She has basiclly abused her body the past year getting ready for this moment. Her 3 lift total for the squat, bench press, and deadlift was 845 pounds. Her previous best total was 780 pounds. Her lifts for each individual lift was: squat-400 pounds, bench press-150 pounds, deadlift-295 pounds. If I figured out how to post a picture, here is Nicole with 385 pounds on her back as she succesfully squats that weight a few weeks before yesterdays meet. We are hoping for a 440 pound squat at the state meet in 2 weeks, a 160 pound bench press and a 330 pound deadlift. If she does all that, she has an excellent shot at being the state champion.

GO STATE!

Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.
Every morning in
Africa, a lion wakes up.
It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

Very Cool Darrell!

Gotta love a strong girl! (I know you'd never guess, but I was a shot-putter in HS)  Wish her the best from all of us.
