body fat %

It's got to be all this damn skin!  I was down to 25% body fat - and it's only gone up from there.  my scale read it as 34% today! (and i've only gotten more trim/lean, etc).  I'm guessing the skin is messing up the reading and i should no longer pay attention to it.

UGH.

For a more accurate reading you could try something like this
http://www.getdunked.com/home/default.asp
Hydrostatic dunk testing.

This company charges $50.00 you might look for a local company in your area.

Good luck.

I am guessing you are dehydrated. On most body scan devices, the lower your total body water % is, the Higher your body fat %... you should be shooting for 52%-55% hydration level.

Your body wakes up naturally dehydrated after a long period of sleep with no fluid intake and usually a first of the morning pee cleans out the fluid supply. Best to weigh yourself for body fat in the mid to late afternoon.

Some scales are more accurate about this than others too. My one Tanita is ancient and it consistently over-estimates *everyone's* body fat. My current Tanita was underestimating it but now seems okay. I'll find out for sure on Sat. when I go get dunked.
