I did mile repeats today.

mile 1 7:58
mile 2 8:00
mile 3 7:50

.75 warm up and .25 cool down.

It felt great and I wanted to puke at the end but didn't.  I was so close though.

What did you do today?

Nothing yet, but I am on my way to the gym now where I plan to do about 2-3 miles on the treadmill. I've been sick with a wicked cold for the past few days and had this totally irrational fear that I would get out the of the habit of jogging and just never go back, so it's a huge relief to be well enough to run today!

Rest day since I am work for 12 hours and my husband is leaving for annual training once I am home! I ran three times this week and did zumba twice.
What are mile repeats? Is it as the name implies the same three miles over and over to check for time/pace? Is this to improve your pace?

Mile repeats are a good way to increase your speed.  Most people probably do them on a track but some do them on a TM and I have a long flat stretch of road that I like to do them on.  The mile repeats allow you to run at race pace or faster with a quick break in between.  Today I did 3 with about 2 minutes break.  Next week I will do 4 with the same pace.  The week after I will probably go back to 3 but do them 15 seconds quicker.  The following week I will do 4 again at that pace.  This is all in preperation to run a 5K PR at the end of April.

I'm about to hop on an airplane. I brought my TRX strap and I'm hoping I'll force myself to use it for a good hotel workout.
