Noassatol...now THERE'S one problem I've never had...
I don't have much of a butt either, never have. Lots of leg though.
Anyway, I think that during the first year most of the weight comes off, but the body doesn't really work itself out until the second year or so. I was fit after the first year, and had good muscle tone, but don't think my shape figured itself out until I was well into my second year. 6 years post-op now, all I really think about is my fitness level and body fat %.
Try to have patience. You're not going to get there all at once. Sometimes we just need to let the body do its own thing first. Work on your fitness, health, and toning and it will eventually work itself out.

Thanks for those words of wisdom, Linn. It's tempting to get discouraged...I haven't lost anything since last fall, and I've been working out 5-6 days a week, tracking my food intake and keeping it below 1500 calories, drinking my water...in other words, doing everything right! Quitting is not an option, though, and you're right - eventually it has to happen! I know that, but my scale has come very close to going through the wall on many occasions!

I didn't really have a butt to begin with (seriously, the only fat girl I knew with no ass), but once I started running and weight training it began making appearances and then BAM, suddenly I had a butt. Not going to lie, I kind of like it :) Totally makes all the squats, stairs and lunges worth it..
