My left hip is killing me.  I am limping.  Yesterday I did a group strength class with it's share of squats and lunges, plus a group kick class.  I was fine until my trainer tried to kill me this morning.  Lots of squats and lunges again.

Should I take tomorrow and rest my hip a bit before I meet with the trainer again on Thursday, so should I go to a yoga/pilates class tomorrow where I would get a lot of muscle stretching?

TIA!

I'd stretch it. There are some yoga moves that target the hips that may really help! :)

did your trainer know you did squat work yesterday too?  Not sure its a great idea to overwork muscles like that, you need time to recover and rebuild.

I'd rest it.  After years of inactivity, your hip is pissed at you.  You have to ease in to activity.

I wouldn't go to pilates if my hip was hurting. You can stretch at home. Exercising with injuries is a way to get further injured.
