Thanks much, I think I am going to try the cliff bars after my longer runs.  I been using protein shakes mainly, sometimes with a tablespoon of almond butter or a banana.  I'm still struggling to get carbs in, I think its more psychological for me :)

I'll be heading to the Wellness Center in a little while. I'll do 20 minutes on the stationary bike and then 20-25 minutes on the weight machines. Rotator cuff is still pretty sore, so I'll probably avoid the pull-down and rowing type machines. I'll concentrate more on my legs today.

GO COLTS!!!

Today was abs, including the start of the 200 sit-up challenged, followed by a 1.2 mile swim.

I'm trying to convince myself to go bike riding. It's sunny out but I have to be back by 1pm to go to a party. I'm feeling lazy.

I did intervals- about 2.6 miles in 30 minutes- and some yoga.  I've increased my speed a little bit with the intervals recently (and I always jog on an incline on the TM) and noticed some pulling in my abdominal muscles on my left side where my larger incision was made.  I feel it when I'm running the faster interval, but it goes away when I slow down and lower the incline.  Anyone else experience this?  I assume it's just the weakened muscle getting stronger, but I'm always on the look out for a hernia.

Did 5K this morning. Shaved off 1.29 off last weeks time on same route. Right knee a bit sore, so icing and stretching. The route I ran is an upward grade on the entire return with one steeper hill. So wondering if that counts as "hill workout?"

It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

I am leaving for zumba in a bit. If my favorite instructor is not there I will just run. I missed running yesterday with my group due to back pain. I later went for a brisk 3 mile walk. I feel pretty good today so I will try a  wokout. I have pain on days I do not work out either so I am not suure it is related.

Mary,

If I were you I'd try to get in to see a physical therapist.  You might also have them check out your running form and see if your back pain is related.  Also, if you have an old injury, they tend to flare up at odd times.  Try to make a note of when it hurts and what you did the previous day or two.  That may help also.  I have an old SI joint injury that tends to flare up if I'm not careful with left foot right hand twists (or just twisting to the left).

Take care of yourself!

I do want a physical therapy consult. My provider ordered massage therapy and heat but it has just got worse; so she ordered the MRI. I am asking for a PT consult after that. I do not tolerate many drugs which was her other option for me. I have tried to find a pattern for what made my day worse or better. Lots of old back injuries from being a nurse but the pain is lower than any others that I can remember. That is a good thought though, I had not thought of this as a possible flare up. Thanks!
I like reading your posts; I want to do a mini tri this July.
