Headed back to the gym this morning at 5am before work.  Just did 20 minutes of cardio on the elliptical trainer.  Getting back in the groove...after a few weeks of just cardio...I'm going to get started on my weight training program.

I volunteer twice a month at the YMCA at the cardiac pool( I am a nurse) so I was up bright and early for a run. Two miles on the treadmill and I plan on an hour of Zumba after work; clothes packed and in the car.

Cool forum . . . hello all!

10 min pilates
8 sets of 6 reps with each hand using a kettle bell in conditioning class, no idea what it's called.  Started with 38 pound weight, finished with 50 pound weight, lifted with one hand, raised overhead keeping wt aligned with arm while angling feet & hip along the line of arm holding weight., reached down to touch floor keeping wt upraised.
10 minutes of four alternating 15 second sets - swung 50 pound kettle to shoulder level & on downswing went into squats, 15 second rest, burpees, 15 second rest.  Repeat
10 minutes stretching.

Starting back slow after a lateral thigh impingment injury.  Hard to run through the pain and numbness. DH ( fitness instructor for the FBI) worked me out a program to run a 6 k in 10 weeks.  wish me luck.

I will be doing a 30 minute run tonight.  I have decided to start running 4 times per week vs. 3 times.  Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for my short runs and a long run on the weekend.
Without struggle, there is no progress.

Jan 1 officially started my half marathon training, so 7 miles on Sat and 5 miles this morning.  Just got new Saucony sneaks and they are working out really well!
