SATURDAY Work-Outs, Baby!

Hi, Everyone! I started in on a cough and sore throat yesterday, but it seems to be better today, and my breathing is just fine, so I went for it.

I did 4.73 miles at an easy pace this morning. This is the first day of fall that I have actually had to layer--it was 37 degrees when I started out!

A lot of the run was hill-work, which is inevitable in my corner of Portland. Sometimes I mightily curse the hills, but today I was feeling pretty good!!

What did everyone else do today?

I ran a 5k with my wife this morning. She did awesome... Her goal was to finish under 30 minutes... She did it in 29:17... So proud of her. I ran with her for the first mile and we ran a 10 minute mile, after that she said go run fast and do your "Thang", so I finished in 24:40... sub 7 minute miles for the last couple and am real happy with that. I am going to swim this evening after the kids go to bed. Have a great weekend all....

That's awesome.........

Still resting, trying to stay out of junk food with my kids.  UGH!  Knees are still sore but pain levels and aggravation seem to be improving daily.

I did tons of housecleaning today thanks to not having to schedule my run/lifting today!

I need to do some upper body work tomorrow.  Monday will be my first day to try walking in my new shoes.  Not planning to run until Wednesday, hopefully that will be enough rest.......I scared myself.......

Ran 5.5 miles yesterday (Saturday), but kicked up my speed to finish at 7.5 mph.  Dan inspired me to "stretch my stride" - only problem is that my short little legs can only stretch so far!  Felt great to pick up the speed, though.

Today is focused on hills and arms.  Unfortunately, I will probably have to skip my kick boxing class this morning.
