I ran a total of 5 miles with warm up and cool down... The meat of my workout was an ALL-OUT 5k effort on the dreadmill. PR'd at 19:01 5k!!! Yee hawwwww I have 18 miles of joyous running on the plate tomorrow. Have a good one ya'll...

Nothing today but rest and fluids. I came down with a cold/flu, hopefully it goes away as quick as it came on.  I'm thinking I might give myself the weekend off depending how I feel.

Sounds like you might need a few days, I pushed my training through an infection because I kept saying I was ok and I ended up with a steroid shot and prednisone.  I don't know that continuing to run made it worse, but it probably didn't help much either.  Luckily the shot and pills made it possible for me to continue training.  I only went to the doctor because my lungs were too tight to run.............

Just fast walking on steep inclines with hand weights.  Actually, not sure why I said "just" because my arms and legs really feel this workout afterwards -  just doesn't feel the same as running to me, though.

ended up getting a gym workout in yesterday.... 45 minutes of weights (legs/core), and then a nice solid 65 minute spin on the stationary bike with some decent intervals peppered in.
Where are we going??  And why am I in this handbasket??

right now.  somewhere.  somebody is working harder than you.
