That's amazing Serenity I am sooooooooo happy for you!  I missed your post but went back to look for it since I really just joined this forum at the end of October.  Wish I had come here sooner, but I had Marie (MacMadame) answering questions from the LW board and PM, and you, and livewell too!  I can't believe you made it that well and without actually training all the way to that distance, but I always tell people, you never know what you can do on race day until you do one..........every time I have pushed way past my training pace........so I guess distance is conquerable too!

My cuz (Marine) never been overweight is up to 20 miles training for his marathon, it's keeping me motivated seeing what he's doing.......his accomplishment is no less important, it's probably hard for him to find time to train with two young kids.  Plus his wife walked/ran a 5K at 39 weeks pregnant, she'll be caught up with me again in no time!

I've been told that if you can run 10 miles, you can do 13.

It's true -- my longest training run was 10 miles.

Thanks!  It was a great feeling to cross that finish line and realize how far I've come in the year.
