How long does your sensor last you? I know you can't replace the battery, and you have to buy a new sensor instead so I'm trying to figure out about what an average life span is for the sensor. Mileage/hours/ days/ months etc. anything to help out would be great. I did buy my sensor today and will calibrate the mile tomorrow, so is it better to calibrate at the school track or just use what you know is a mile (according to your car) on the street?

Thanks!

Katie

I started using mine February 16th of this year. Today I hit 600 miles on it (it has failed to record about 4 workouts or 16 miles). My sensor still works and I do wear my shoes all the time. My shoes however wore out about 500 miles. I have an extra sensor that just so happened to be in the shoes I bought. I think someone must have bought the shoes and took them back. So to answer your question, I am still on the first sensor and it has lasted over 8 months so far.

I calibrated on a track and then checked it on a treadmill. I walked a 5k on 4th of July and 3 of us had the Nike iPod. I know mine was the closest and one woman was off by .7K.

Thanks Jennifer,

Glad to know I won't have to buy one every month.  Will go down to the school track tomorrow and calibrate if the track isn't being used.  Will have to find a treadmill...might have to check to see if some of the local gyms are having some type of a trial membership.

Katie.

They are supposed to last around a year. But I am sure it also depends on how much you use it.

Thanks! My hubby was worried I'd have to buy one every couple of months. once a year is great though!
