Today is the Portland Marathon--I hope to be there with them next year!

But for today I am doing a 6.1 mile run along Capitol Highway to the shady green lushness of the Terwilliger trail, and back home again.

What's everyone else doing this fine Sunday?

A gorgeous 70 degree day with a slight mist and overcast sky... A perfect day for a run. I usually do not excercise on Sunday, but today was a rare exception. Here is how it went:

I did the San Jose Rock 'n Roll Half Marathon. I killed my planned finish time, too. 2:11:07 total when the online calculators said 2:18 to 2:24. I'm very happy.

I really didn't feel anywhere close to 100% today but I did get in 5 miles.  Today was more walking than running but I kept a good pace.

I run for those who can't or won't.  I run because I once was one of those people.

19.1 miles yesterday.  Feeling fine for my marathon in 2 weeks.  The 12.8 mile mark (took a break while I waited for a student to come run a couple miles with me) I was at 2:15.  My goal time will be 4:40-4:50 and with the aid stations and the crowds I think that should really be doable

I ran 16 miles. Next sunday is suppose to be the longest run before my marathon on Nov. 1. Then I start to taper. My goal is to finish the race the same day I start.

Hey, which marathon are you doing November 1?

It's local. Marshall Marathon in Huntington, WV. it ends on Marshall University's campus on the football field. You come down the ramp and around the side line to the upper end zone and then down the middle of the field to cross the finish line. I did the half last year. The main thing on my mind last year was not falling down the ramp. I was trying to cramp up for about the last 2 miles or the race. I think I didn't properly hydrate during the race. Poor planning on my part.
