Vineman Prep today

I rode the 56 mile bike course for our local ironman event today.  It was pretty good considering it was one of if not the hottest day of the year we have had so far.  Lots of hills, 2 flats one for me, one for my riding partner.

We averaged 15.3 mph which isn't great but I'm surprised it was that high actually.  I'm sure I saw a snail or two racing us up a couple of those hills.  Thank god for the granny gear.  I plan to ride this course at least once a month until the 70.3 next July.

The hardest part of the ride was the 16 mile ride back to our cars after the first 56.  I swear that part was uphill with a head wind, but I know for a fact it is flat.

if that's in your normal training potential then that 3rd chainring might be for you.  Understand it's a pretty brutal course
